"I was a little inspired by the '20s - feathers, tassels," Chanel's artistic director, designer Virginie Viard, told Vogue. "It's a summer collection, so it's very fresh, even with embroidery." 

Unlike the late Karl Lagerfeld, who adored grand shows, Viard has a more minimalist approach. She collaborated with artist Xavier Veilhan to build the stage. The catwalk set was elegant and minimalist and included plywood walkways.

In the 1920s, after the economic and social turmoil of World War I, there was a sudden burst of creative energy. The iconic Coco Chanel at the time styled its trousers based on those of men, but tailored to its shapes. Chanel also styled riding pants and boots.

The show started with Charlotte Casiraghi, who rode on horseback and made a lap on the catwalk, which was liked by some and criticized by others .

In the latest collection, the highlight was the iconic Chanel jacket with a "tweed" piece (fabric with soft structure, made of simple knitting).
