The emotions before the first meeting with Shawn Mendes, makes Camila prepare in some not so ordinary ways. Although they have been friends for years, the singer failed to calm her heartbeat and found the solution in tequila and music.

"I was so nervous that before I went out with him, I turned on two tequila shots and sang 'Defying Gravity' in the shower over and over again," she tells Carpool Karaoke.

Then he adds:

"I thought, 'Will I kiss her when I see her?' We've been friends for years, but we certainly weren't together."

Camila Cabello and Mendes have known each other since 2014, but they were rumored for a relationship only in July 2019. In September of the same year, the couple confirmed the relationship.

It seems that the combination of Tequila with Broadway songs worked for Camila because since then, the couple seems more in love than ever!
