Test for Covid, then party? It is not excluded as an option.
Six clubs in Berlin took part in an experiment on Covid-19 to see if PCR testing could help reopen nightlife during the pandemic.
The "Clubculture Reboot" pilot experiment was organized by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe together with scientists from the city's Charité Hospital. Participants aged 18 and over did a PCR test for Covid-19 on Friday. If the test result was negative, they were allowed to enter.
All participants should have a second PCR test one week later, on August 13, regardless of whether they have been vaccinated or have just recovered from Covid-19.
About 20 clubs applied to participate in the project, but only six were selected based on ventilation systems, city districts and type of music.
The purpose of the study is to determine how nightclubs can be safely reopened. If no one gets infected during the holiday weekend, the test facility can be used for similar events in the future.
