How fast can heat dehydrate you?

About 60% of our body is made up of water, which means we are constantly losing weight when we sweat or breathe. Hot temperatures speed up the process and if we do not replace it with fluids or other water, we give the body a chance to dehydrate.

When dehydration occurs, you start to feel thirsty, your mouth and lips dry out, your headache starts and you may notice that the color of your urine has darkened more than usual.

The heat makes the heart beat faster, lowers blood pressure and in addition you may experience mood swings. The question is: How quickly does heat have the power to dehydrate us?

This process can happen within hours or even 30 minutes! People can lose 1 liter or 2 within 1 hour if you do not replace it all the time. If you are sitting inside a hot apartment it will take a little longer to dehydrate as you are not physically active.

In conclusion, it all depends on the situation and what you are doing at the moment. If you do not drink enough water, the path to hydration will be much simpler, so special care is recommended. The first tip is to avoid going out in the sun, and the second is to drink water. It is not said that 6-8 glasses are necessarily needed as the needs depend on one person to another. Consider the color of the urine. If you want cleaner drink more water, as it is a sign that you are dehydrated.
