Princess Diana's short hair inspired many women to look forward to them too, but it has not always been so easy for her. Richard Dalton, her personal hairdresser for many years, explained that even the slightest change in the princess's hair became "front page news", so they needed a tactic to change their hair to make it shorter, without noticed no one.
In an interview with Toon & Country, Richard spoke at length about the work done with the princess for more than a decade and how he was "with her every day for 12 years".
"Whatever I did with her hair became the main news. We both had to be very careful."
Since even the smallest changes attracted a lot of attention, Dalton decided to do something that people would not notice.
"We started cutting a quarter of a inch of hair length, occasionally, a few weeks apart." (1 inch = 2.54 cm)
From July to October, Princess Diana looked like this:
Richard was also the man who gave Prince Harry and Prince William their first haircuts.
