No sex for a long time: How else can you get the benefits that come from it

While sex can give you good sensations, boost your immune system and help you burn calories, it is definitely not the only way to get these benefits.

If you are single or have been for a long time, start looking at this period through a different prism. Think of it as a time during which you:

- You have all the space you need to discover other interests, either through sexual fantasy and self-satisfaction, or through non-sexual activities that you may enjoy.

- You can also focus and give importance to non-genital parts of the body.

- You can focus on building a strong emotional bond rather than having sex with someone.

If you use sex as a stress reliever, while you are not having sex regularly or often you may:

- Try to find a deep spiritual connection with yourself on another level (meditation, yoga, etc.), instead of using sex to avoid dealing with what may be bothering you.

- Give priority to sleep and self-care.

Do regular physical activity to relieve tension.

- Learn to practice "emotional regulation" if you think there is a problem.

- Take part in a running race.
