Using dirty words can be healthy: Here's how!

We often use swearing or dirty words as a simple means of expressing our feelings, whether positive or negative. However, studies show some other good of these not so "good" words.

1. The use of such words can be a sign of intelligence

According to a study , using dirty words means you are intelligent. Study participants were tasked with listing all words beginning with F, A, or S that they could think of for a minute. After that, they were given an extra minute to think about words starting with the same three letters. The results of the study were that the people who could think of more words, were the ones who had used more "dirty words".

2. It can be a sign of sincerity

3. May improve pain tolerance

Numerous studies have shown that swearing / dirty words can increase our tolerance for pain. This study proved it through an experiment: People who put their hands in ice cold water and used these words were able to feel less pain and keep their hands in the water more than people who did not use insults.

4. Can help you build rapport with work staff

According to one study , the use of such words in the form of jokes in the workplace had positive effects on the atmosphere created. It was found that the forms of this vocabulary were used to express kindness and solidarity, but also as a means to regulate or alleviate complications involving complaints or rejected requests.
