Maestro Agrim Krajka passed away at the age of 84. The news of the death of the prominent composer was made public by his son, Ulis Krajka, through a post on social networks.
"Your beautiful soul rested in peace my dear father," he wrote.
Agim Krajka was the artist who left irreplaceable traces in the history of Albanian light music and laid the foundations for modern music. His valuable contribution was appreciated with over 15 awards, orders and medals as well as the title "Grand Master".
Born in Kavaja, on May 3, 1937, in a family of Dibra origin, Krajka grew up among his father's musical instruments, such as violin, mandolin and accordion. In 1963 he began his studies in Theory and Composition, under the direction of the great Czech Zadeja.
Krajka is the composer of many songs that are still sung today by the public or in music scenes, among which we can mention the famous song "Lemza", sung by Vaçe Zela at the First Song Festival in 1961. Other popular songs we mention "I do not forget", "The boy and the rain", "I am not alone", "Give me light from your eyes", "Coffee Flora full men" etc.
His music could not be missing in some of the iconic films of Albanian cinematography, such as "Happy Couple", "Lady from the city", "Lady from the village", "Guerrilla Unit", "Women's Deputy" etc.
Long ago, Krajka, widely regarded as the "youth composer", said that he composed more than fifty love songs, which for decades, shaped light music and remain a valuable contribution to the history of saj.
