Billionaire rapper and producer, Dr. Dre says he will go home "soon" after receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Los Angeles for a brain aneurysm *.
A * brain aneurysm is an abnormal swelling of a blood vessel in the brain. It can "leak" or rupture, causing internal bleeding / bleeding in the brain, which can be fatal.
The six-time Grammy Award winner said in a post on social media that he was grateful for the congratulations of his friends, family and fans.
TMZ reported that he had a brain aneurysm on Monday and was recovering at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dre gave no reason for hospitalization.
"I am recovering and I am under the excellent care of my medical team," he said. "I will leave the hospital and return home soon. Thank you to all the great medical professionals at Cedars! ”
Dre, whose real name is Andre Young, has produced hits for Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and others.
Born in the Southern California town of Compton, he exploded into the music scene as a co-founding member of TheA, producing the band's 1988 debut album, Straight Outta Compton.
Dre has produced hits and successful albums with singers like Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Nas, Busta Rhymes etc.
He has also had success beyond the rap genre, with pop music hits for Gwen Stefani and Mary J Blige.
Dre founded Beats Electronics in 2008 with Jimmy Iovine and six years later, they launched a streaming subscription service, Beats Music.
Apple bought them both on a $ 3 billion contract in 2014.
