According to the United Nations Human Development Index (HDI), Norway has been voted the best country in the world for quality of life.
Neither the UK nor the US are in the top ten, while Norway has remained in first place for several years.
HDI ranks a country depending on its life expectancy, expected years of schooling, average years of schooling and gross international income (GNI).
For Norway, its life expectancy is the highest of 189 countries in the index, with an average of 82.4 years. Meanwhile, the UK was 81.3 years, and the US was 78.9.
In second place was the Republic of Ireland with an average life expectancy of 82.3.
In third place is Switzerland, followed by Hong Kong, Iceland, Germany, Sweden, Australia, the Netherlands and Denmark.
The United Kingdom came in 13th, while the United States in 17th.
