The very famous Supreme Court judge Ruth Bader Ginsgurg has passed away at the age of 87. According to CNN, the judge died as a result of pancreatic cancer. Ginsgurg has served on the Supreme Court since 1993, appointed since President Clinton was in power.
The judge passed away at her home in Washington surrounded by family members. Colleagues called her a historical figure in the world of justice.
Born in 1933 in Brooklyn, Ruth also became very famous for the precious words and advice she occasionally uttered. She grew up admiring her mother, thanks to whom she learned the importance of being independent.
"My mother kept telling me two things. The first was that I had to be a lady and the second was to be independent."
When she was placed in charge of the Supreme Court, Ruth was the second female judge there, after Sandra Day O'Connor.
Throughout her career, she made sure to be a champion for human rights. In 2010, when her husband passed away due to cancer, she said: "He was the only boy I came out to who cared I had a brain." Even after his death, she did not miss a single day at work.
