Separation from Orlando Bloom led Katy Perry to total darkness

During an interview for "Q on CBC", Katy Perry showed for the first time the problems she had with mental health after the separation from Orlando Bloom. 2017 seems to have been a not-so-good year for the singer, who even managed to think about suicide after parting ways with her partner and selling few of her albums.

Perry said she was allowing herself to drown in her sadness when she thought she had touched the end in her personal and professional life.

"I lost my smile. I don't remember if I ever laughed completely, that is, to be myself. For a long time I had a smile printed on it that came as a result of love and admiration for the outside world, but then it disappeared."

The singer, who is now in sweet anticipation of her first child with Bloom, points out that the path her career took "broke" her.

"I broke up with my boyfriend, who is now the baby's dad, and then I was so excited about the success of the next hit, but I noticed that no record was bothering me anymore, so I crashed."

Despite the difficulties, Perry calls the experience a "necessary break," as she believes that gratitude and humility saved her life.

"It was very important for me to get to that point, because now I see the whole world from a different perspective. I'm much more than just a pop star eager to live life. Gratitude is probably the only thing that matters to me. saved my life because if I didn?t find it, I would surely drown in my sadness, but thankfully I discovered ways to be grateful.

Hope has always been an option for me because the connection I have with God is greater than I am. I always think that a greater and more powerful thing than I have created me for a reason and like any other human being, I have become for a purpose in life. "- concludes the star of" Teenage Dream ".
