They say that a habit should take place for 21 consecutive days. Over the past few weeks in isolation, social distancing, and even quarantine, we have done some things for more than 21 days. But will they take place? Hope.
We may be very optimistic, but Albanians after quarantine will have learned to stand in line. Remember a few lines in the mail - which is undoubtedly the most horrible and disorganized queue in the country - how people climb behind the counter, how they breathe the breath that the other exhales, as the word line was hidden from the dictionary.
To protect ourselves and others, we quickly learned to stand in line and away from each other. Of course, the signs on the ground also helped. We learned, but with difficulty.
Second, we learned from the beginning of this extraordinary situation the importance of technology and the Internet. Now that we are out of isolation, we have not forgotten their value at all. Parents will look more positively at the phones on which the children bend because those phones were their teachers for two months. And the students themselves will realize that there is life beyond Snapchat and TikTok. It sounds like a cliché, but they really have the world in their hands and they can learn everything.
Already, we all know the importance of hand washing and coughing at the elbow. But this unforeseen awareness of hygiene should not disappear. Most schools and colleges in the country do not provide students with the facilities needed to maintain good hygiene. Gymnasiums that have soap in the baths are rare, faculties probably less so. Functional toilets should return to normal wherever there are crowds of people.
If you think about it for a few seconds, you will think of at least three people who have sworn to start the gym when the situation is over. Isolation and inactivity made us realize the importance of walking to work, cycling, fitness, walking and all other physical activities. This could be the beginning of a massive awareness of the importance of fitness.
At this point you split into two groups: Either you bought how much you were tired of online stores and you discovered your new fixation; or you didn't buy anything because you realized you didn't need anything. Consumerism will change after pandemics, no doubt. Finally, people turned their eyes away from online stores or taxi services because they had no choice. When we return to normalcy, they will continue to use these services as if they could not live without them, giving impetus to a new industry, relatively underdeveloped in Albania. While others will withdraw from purchases. The last period at home, with the shops closed, made them realize that they are fine as much as they have. All the others are unnecessary luxuries.
Isolation affected each of us, but in different ways. Maybe someone made him go back to books, someone made him spend 18 hours on Instagram and someone else taught him to cook. What we mentioned above is more comprehensive and applies to the masses. But no doubt each of us will leave the house one by one.
