Exactly how many people recover from Covid-19? It is a question we all want to answer, although it is difficult to determine the exact number.
Most people with Covid-19 have mild symptoms and are able to recover quickly without the need to stay under medical care, according to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Although there are regional, national and global data on deaths, there is a significant lack of data on cured cases.
Johns Hopkins University - whose data is published in every Anabel.al article on the total number of infected, healed and victims - was one of the few institutions that has followed the number of survivors since January.
The category of recovering people began when the virus was concentrated in China and local media were releasing official reports, "a John Hopkins University spokesman told CNN.
However, it is difficult to determine the exact number of recovering patients as reports in some countries are based on local media reports and the number of people who have successfully coped with Covid-19 is likely to be higher.
Why is tracking of cured cases important?
Familiarity with the number of cases that have been cured can provide general data on the number of infected and more. Recognition of these cases serves as an important point in understanding when Covid-19 will disappear and at what point people will return to normal life.
When is a person considered healed?
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a person is considered to be recovering if he or she meets the following three criteria:
1 - There is no fever for at least 72 hours without using medication and no fever.
2 - Other symptoms improve, such as cough and difficulty breathing.
3 - A period of at least 7 days has passed since the onset of the first symptoms.
4 - If the tests for Covid-19 come out negative twice in a row, with a difference of 24 hours from each other.
However, the term "cured" does not mean that the patient is healthy, as there are many patients who feel tired and have a cough, although they have met the criteria for recovery.
