This year's edition of "Magic Song" came with major changes. Foreign artists were first allowed to participate in two categories, young and old; and the voting mode was changed by allowing the public to vote by telephone. These changes met little resistance from some of the artists present in the hall of "Albanian Sunday," a resistance that was followed by an explanation by the German producer.
He explained first that many countries around the world have an international festival, but Albania does not. At least until this year. Gebrea sees a big picture of what is happening and realizes that a festival is more than a festival: it is a representative of the culture in the country at a given moment. It is for this reason that he regrets that there are so few organizations in the country.
?I think the Magic Song and the Festival of Song are two festivals that have given to each other and brought good to Albanian music, with the defects that it is impossible to be perfect. The two festivals together have made a contribution. Personally I'm sorry it's not Top Fest, because it's been an added value. I felt sorry for the moment because it was an opportunity for the artists. There are artists who live with this kind of music, with this kind of activity, unlike others who live in video clips or concerts. Festivals are a boon for the artist, but also for the public, and for what we give and receive. At the moment, an international festival is missing. ?
To make it clear, competition is good for anyone, in any industry, because it simply drives participants to be more proficient.
