Discussions of the sexuality of Elsa's character in "Frozen" resume again. People are really interested in Elsa being a lesbian. The 2016 #GetElsaAGirlfriend campaign, where people demanded that the ice queen be a lesbian, became viral on social media again.
The rumor that Elsa will be the first lesbian princess has spread even more since the article titled "It's official: Disney announces that Elsa will be a lesbian in Frozen 2". The article was published by NPC Daily, a satirical site, which means it's not true. At least it's not official from Disney yet.
However this has not stopped people from hoping, they even know who the protagonist's girlfriend is.
"Elsa has to be either gay and / or single in Frozen 2. This is Disney + I love," someone writes.
It all started from the animated film fable: Elsa's secret is considered dangerous by the family, which forces her to keep it secret by locking her in her room most of the time. "Conceal it, don't feel it" is a verse of Oscar-nominated "Let It Go" Idina Menzel's "Best Original Song."
Regarding the #GetElsaAGirlfriend movement, a year ago, writer and director Jennifer Lee spoke out openly about the idea that Elsa might be a lesbian, but remains to be seen.
"Frozen 2" is set to hit theaters on November 22 and is a sequel to the first film to be released in 2013, making it the highest grossing film of all time. Disney announced in 2015 that there would be another series, the work for which began in 2017.
