For "Game of Thrones", the Home Box Office had envisioned another series that would set the scene thousands of years ago. But sources for Variety say that HBO has canceled the long-awaited series of Game of Thrones fans.
It was expected that the new production, which would serve as a preface telling the whole story before the seven famous kingdoms were created, would play: Naomi Watts, Josh Whitehouse, Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough, Jamie Campbell Bower, Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp, Toby Regbo, Miranda Richardson, Marquis Rodriquez, John Simm, Richard McCabe, John Heffernan and Dixie Egerickx.
Screenwriter Jane Goldman co-created the series with writer George RR Martin. Martin's work, "A Song of Ice and Fire," served as the basis for "Game of Thrones."
HBO rejected Variety's request to comment on the causes that led to the series' cancellation.
The seventh and eighth season of "Game of Thrones" brought disunity among fans and many criticized the direction the subject took. However, GOT won 12 Emmy Awards last season, including "Best Drama Series". He has been nominated 32 times and currently has the highest number of Emmy nominations in history.
