The internet is a strange place. If an egg succeeded in toppling Kylie for the "Most liked photo on Instagram", many things could happen. Finally, a young man made a fuss on social networks after he managed to fool everyone.
History starts like this. Last week, an account named @drake_wedding was opened on Instagram whose user had the intention clear. He posted a screenshot of a conversation with Drake asking him to perform at his wedding after wanting to surprise his girlfriend. Drake, in a conversation, said he would only perform at a wedding if the @drake_wedding account had at least 100,000 followers and the photo of the conversation received 1,000,000 likes.
The boy called Toronto's Kiss 92.5 radio where he said the conversation was true. "I don't know how to make a montage, let alone a video record," he said.
As we said, the internet is weird. The account reached more than 100,000 followers (currently has 250,000) while the photo garnered more than 1 million likes.
But the magic was broken. While people were waiting for Drake to post something, it actually turned out to be all a scam. In fact, @drake_wedding has not communicated with the rapper before. It looked like the video where he showed the conversation was montage.
"Instagram is a worrying place," wrote Drake, where the conversation of @drake_wedding appears, explaining that he is just a 16-year-old boy from San Antonio. ?I didn't expect it to be so big. I'm a fan of yours. You can get my account. I don't know what to do, ?he writes.
Now, the 16-year-old has deleted the posts by writing only "The Drake Wedding Guy - Biggest W of all time" in the profile. WOW. Very Drake-y.
