BUSINESS

- 10 years ago, the UAE did not allow entrepreneurs to build their own companies in the country, if 51% of the business was not owned by a resident. But now the EBA have abolished this request. Restrictions are still on the oil industry and insurance companies, but sectors such as transport, services for tourists and guides are open to foreigners.

- The UAE does not offer permanent residence , so many employees and students are disappointed by the short-term visa system. But recently the government has applied five-year tenure visas that can be taken by investors, entrepreneurs, doctors, art specialists, exiting students.

- Previously not even thought, but now, as part of the Dubai strategy to return to a key business and technology site, many programs are funded by the state fund .

INFRASTRUCTURE

- Once, it was impossible to move to Dubai without a car . But Metro Dubai has already provided a massive and convenient transit system for a modern metropolis. Public transport has also expanded in the water areas through appropriate means.

- As a sunny climate throughout the year, Dubai has been relatively slow to embrace solar energy . However, the government has taken measures to install solar panels in 10 percent of homes in the Emirate.

- Recent medical treatments were not even thought of in Dubai ten years ago, but at a fast pace, the metropolis turned out to attract endless interest in this field as it embraced advanced treatments in record time.

TOURISM

- Although 10 years ago, technology was not the strongest point in Dubai, today the metropolis stands in the first line of the innovation line for virtual reality.

- During the previous years, Dubai has not been very welcoming for cyclists , but the creation of car-free areas has made it incredibly easy to explore by people who use the bicycle.

- The pace of change can make Dubai seem to be born overnight, but the city has an interesting history . That is why the government is always trying to attract as many historical background visitors as possible through various programs.

Years ago, Dubai was seen as a simple town with a fishing port, museum and exhibit that documented the simple lifestyle, before the era of heavenly skies came.
