We will not see Kosovo in Eurovision, at least for some time. Voting for status changes at the EBU General Assembly held in Oslo has ended with a negative result.

Changes in status that would help Kosovo's entry into Eurovision are not accepted, local media reports.

The fundamental change, aimed at the entry of Kosovo into the EBU (European Union of Radio Televisions), was the abolition of membership in the "International Telecommunication Union" as a prerequisite for accepting a public broadcaster in the EBU.

Before the start of the vote, Serbia, Greece, Cyprus and 16 other states requested that the vote be secret and that their request was accepted.

Out of 1186 voters, 673 voted against, 400 pro and 113 abstentions.
