YouTube is blocking comments on many videos that contain children because of the trace of a pedophile network, which distributed disruptive content through this platform.
The video-sharing company declares that it will not allow the user to comment on videos that include 13-year-olds or younger children. Likewise, comments will also be blocked for minors aged 13-18, for whom YouTube believes that they risk taking such behaviors.
As noted above, the decision came as a result of the discovery of a pedophile network that distributed and commented on videos of children dancing or doing gymnastics.
"We will start blocking comments on most of the videos that have children, except for a small number of channels that moderate comments and take additional steps to protect children. We understand that comments are an important way to connect creators to the audience, but we also know that the right thing is to protect the YouTube community, "he said in a statement yesterday.
The company said the change is expected to happen within months, adding that the help of this initiative will be another option that reveals and deletes twice as many individual comments.
