In May of this year, the European Union granted Albania a 35.4m-euro grant as a monetary aid in the construction and rehabilitation of a railway line from Tirana to Durres and at Mother Teresa airport.

On 3 October this year, the National Territorial Council approved the construction permit for the railway infrastructure with the subject "Albanian Railways".

The date of completion of the Tirana - Durrës and Tirana - Rinas lines are still unclear. However, it is expected that by train, the distances will be realized respectively for 22 minutes and 12 minutes.

Also, on the same date, the National Territorial Council approved the construction of a cable car in the well-known place Sari-Salltik in Kruja and the construction of a detailed plan for the National Area of Drilon-Tushemisht .
