At least 126 people have lost their lives after a ferry crashed into Lake Victoria in Tanzania. The number of victims is expected to go more than 200, as the ferry is said to have been 400-500 people.
Local media say the cause of the tragedy is the overcrowding of the ferry with a capacity of only 100 seats.
The "MV Nyerere" ferry was overtook near the coast between the Ukora and Bugolora islands, where the crowd was being moved only on one side.
Such tragedies are many in Tanzania as the means of transport transpire more than the allowed rate.
