A rare species, similar to a whale and dolphin, was discovered by the Cascadia Research Group on the coast of Hawaii.
The rare Hibdrid is said to be the offspring of a whale mother and a dolphin father, two rare species in the Pacific Ocean.
Robin Beird, the biologist who led the group of researchers, said it was an important breakthrough. Chances of finding a second hybrid are slim and distant, but research will continue.
