Ron Nessman, homeless for many years, was interviewing for a job at a restaurant in California when he saw a baby carriage speeding toward cars on the street. Immediately, the cart caught his attention.
Nessman ran out into the street, stopped the cart, saved the child from a possible, potentially fatal accident. "I didn't even have time to think. In these moments, you just react," he told a local television station.
The video shows the moment when the cart breaks away and goes towards the cars. The woman tries to catch him, but falls and is unable to get up again.
Because of the gesture and the fact that the story went viral, the restaurant chose to hire Ron. He has also received other job offers.
