Three weeks ago, the Technical Committee of Experts announced the decision to limit the movement time from 22:00 to 06:00 in the morning, a decision which will continue to remain in force. At a press conference, representatives of the Technical Committee, after the meeting, stated that measures are needed.
"In terms of the epidemiological situation, the country is still continuing with a high intensity of Covid spread. The 2-week incidence is still high, from 254 cases per 100,000 inhabitants to 347 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. It should be noted that the region that holds the largest share of confirmed cases is Tirana, followed by Gjirokastra and the region of Lezha. We have a high community broadcast. ” - said Eugena Tomini from the Institute of Public Health.
Following the communication, the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection, Mira Rakacolli, said:
"Based on the evaluation of these indicators, the Committee of Experts today made an in-depth analysis of the figures related to the measures taken and at the meeting held earlier, the committee took a unanimous decision to develop these measures."
So, gatherings with more than 10 people indoors and outdoors as well as party gatherings, gatherings, conferences, holiday ceremonies, weddings and funeral ceremonies beyond the family will continue to be banned. Movement restriction will be in force from 22:00 until 06:00 (except for emergencies and work reasons).
The measures taken will be indefinite and will depend on Covid's situation. Rakacolli said that in case the situation worsens, more hours will be limited. An alternative could be closing from 20:00 to 06:00, restricting movement on weekends, but such a thing has not been discussed at the moment.
