The Delta variant is also present in our country! The Ministry of Health and the Institute of Public Health confirm the presence of the "Delta" variant of Covid-19 in Albania following tests carried out in Germany.
"From the champions sent to the Institute of Virology – Charite in Berlin, Germany, where in-depth genetic analysis of the sequence of the virus genome in these champions was carried out, the Delta B.1.617.2 variant resulted."
It seems that the presence of the 'Delta' variant also coincides with the increase in Covid-19 cases over the past few weeks.
According to the Ministry, the only option to withstand and contain the virus remains vaccination. Thus, they call on people to be vaccinated as early as possible.
Of what is known so far, this variant of Covid-19, has greater tranmentosity towards it is very important to respect physical distancing measures and the placement of masks in closed environments.
