Mentioned in Jeffrey Epstein files: Gigi Hadid reacts for the first time

Supermodel Gigi Hadid's name was recently mentioned in documents released by the US Department of Justice related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. After reactions on social media, the model has decided to publicly clarify her position.

According to the documents, a 2015 email shows that someone asked Epstein about the professional success of Gigi Hadid and her sister, Bella Hadid, raising questions about how they achieved fame and fortune in the fashion industry. Epstein's answers at the time were vague, prompting different interpretations.

After the release of these documents, a commenter on Instagram asked Hadid to take a stand. In her response, the model emphasized that the situation was painful and disturbing for her.

"The files hurt me a lot. It's horrible to learn that someone you've never met would talk about you that way, especially in this context," she said. 

Hadid explained that she had not reacted earlier so as not to distract attention from the real victims of this case, but decided to speak out to avoid misunderstandings.

She also denied any allegations of a connection to Epstein, saying: 

"I want to make it clear that I had no connection with that disgusting creature."

The model also spoke about her professional journey, emphasizing that, although she grew up with privilege, her parents, Mohamed Hadid and Yolanda Hadid, have educated her with the value of hard work. She recalled that she began her modeling career in 2012 and has worked continuously to build her name since then.

"I worked hard, every moment," she added, emphasizing that her success is not related to any factor other than personal dedication.

Jeffrey Epstein was an American financier accused of sex trafficking and child abuse, one of the most high-profile cases in recent years in the US. The investigations and related documents have included the names of numerous public figures, although mention in these files does not necessarily imply involvement in his crimes.

The continued release of documents has brought the issue back into the spotlight, prompting reactions from well-known figures who have been named in various ways. In this context, Gigi Hadid's response comes as an attempt to distance herself from any possible connection and emphasize support for the victims.
