Prince William is said to be fearful of the possible succession to the throne of Britain sooner than expected, as his father King Charles has been diagnosed with cancer.
"The cancer news has put William and Kate in a difficult position, and they are somewhat apprehensive about inheriting the fixed throne at a time when they have decided to step away from the limelight to devote themselves to their children," revealed journalist Tina Brown in an essay for New York Times, published March 25.
William and his wife, who is also battling cancer, have three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
According to Brown, the fact that the family is now in the middle of several scandals involving various members of the family has put the royal couple in a difficult position.
"Kate is the most popular member of the royal family after William. Therefore, the future of the monarchy is hanging in the balance, putting it in the same position", the journalist further states, emphasizing that William and Kate also have the importance of the health and condition of the princess.
We remember that on March 22, Middleton announced that he was diagnosed with cancer and is being treated, so he will be away from royal duties for some time.
