Dwayne Johnson, known as 'The Rock', has admitted that he sometimes urinates in a water bottle during filming and happens to be late for filming.
In an interview with GQ magazine, the actor and producer responded to allegations made by news site The Wrap about his behavior on the set of his latest film, the Christmas comedy Red One: "I said a a thousand times: 'Come here. Ask me and I will tell you the truth.'"
Johnson's alleged tardiness has been blamed for pushing up the action-comedy's $250 million budget, with production sources saying he has been up to eight hours late on set, forcing producers to reshoot scenes. especially for him.
The Wrap also reported that the star of the film often peed in a water bottle while working on the set. Johnson, who has previously admitted to using bottles to save time during workouts, admitted to GQ that this habit carries over into his film work: "Yeah, it happens."
Regarding reports of delays, he said: “Yes, that happens too. But not to the extent that was said, to tell the truth. It was an insane amount. It was crazy. Unbelievable.”
"Red One" director Jake Kasdan backed his star, telling GQ that Johnson, who plays a bodyguard in the film, "has never missed a day of work. He has a lot of things to do. It can be delayed sometimes, but that's Hollywood, that's the way it is with everyone. Honestly, I've done three big films with him. I've never seen him be anything other than a great person with every person on set."
Chris Evans, who stars with Johnson in 'Red One', also supported him. Evans told GQ that Johnson was sometimes late to the set on the mornings when he was working out. "He comes a little later some mornings, but it's part of the plan. It's built into the schedule and everyone knows it, so he shows up when he's scheduled to show up."
