For a long time, the theory that Taylor Swift is bisexual and has been secretly connected with some of her friends has been circulating on the Internet. She has responded through the prologue of her album "1989 (Taylor's Version)", quashing these rumours.

 
She says that even when she flirted or met men, people still thought and said that she slept with them. "Dating, flirting and everything else was used against me by a culture that said it believed in women's liberation but constantly judged me by the harsh moral codes of the Victorian era," adding that the same thing happened when she came out. with her friends, as her relationship with them became sexualized again.
 
"If I just went out with my friends, people wouldn't sexualize me, would they? I later learned that people could and would," she stressed.

This is not the first time that people doubt the sexual orientation of the singer. She addressed the fan theory in an interview with Vogue in September 2019. Tay explained that she's just going to make some musical masterpieces and that she can advocate for a community she's not a part of, referring to the LGBTIQ+ community.

The rumors first started after Taylor started dating Dianna Agron in 2010. The girls became fast friends and Tay dedicated a song to her on his album "Red." After some time, they stopped being together.
