Okay, sorry, but now we're officially confused. After we all thought the Shpat-Selvije story was over, the singer himself has clarified the situation once and for all, but not by stating what most of us might have been thinking.
Recently invited to "Kosova Live" on T7, Shpat Kasapi spoke about his latest projects, but journalists - as always - did not hesitate to move on to his personal life. And especially, to that much-discussed breakup with Selvija.
When asked bluntly, "Are you really divorced from Selvija?", Shpati, smiling somewhat embarrassedly, replied:
"I'm not divorced. Next question."
The journalist insisted, "Yes, there are no more photos on Instagram." Shpati, again calmly replied:
"Next question. It doesn't mean that if you don't break up you can't have pictures."
When we thought he would leave us all confused with this half-answer, Shpati told his version of the situation about why the news of their separation came out:
"Eh, they did. Ask Selvije. Selvije is a type - because it is known that every couple has arguments - Selvije expresses all the emotion and sensitivity. Then and maybe she regrets it, but that's the type. She did it, now she is also writing a book about these different situations, we got a little carried away and that was the story."
So everything, according to Shpati, was simply a crisis that was overcome:
"It was blown up a little, it's news that was blown up a little. I was at fault, my negligence in the life I lead, that was a big reason. We all make mistakes in life."
And when asked if they currently live in the same house, Shpati decided to play it off with humor:
"Don't ask too many questions," he told the journalist, smiling and making us confused again.
So, not apart, but not together either. And while they try to maintain privacy and get through a crisis like many other couples, the public and social media are playing detective as always.
We're just saying, if this story is going to end up in a book by Selvija, at least come up with a title like "Love in the Time of Instagram (When You Delete Photos, But Not Memories)," because according to Shpati, that's all that happened.
