Snoop Dogg has sent a message of support to his old friend, David Beckham, following the public clash between the latter and his eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham.
The rapper, who has been friends with the former footballer for more than two decades, gave an interview to Closer magazine , commenting on Brooklyn's recent posts on social media, where he accused his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of manipulative behavior.
“I’ve known David for over 20 years,” Snoop Dogg said. “Despite everything he’s accomplished, there’s nothing more important to him than family.”
Speaking about the father-son relationship, he added:
"We have often discussed parenting. We do the best we can, but no father is perfect. We all make mistakes, but there should always be forgiveness."
Snoop Dogg stressed that he has not directly discussed the situation with Beckham, but made it clear that he supports him.
"He knows he can call me anytime he wants. We've talked about our children often over the years, but David wants to keep this matter private."
He emphasized the importance of open dialogue in the family:
"Things can improve when there is honest communication. I've always told my children this: if you have something to say, say it, even if it's hard for me to hear."
In conclusion, the rapper emphasized that parents should allow their children to choose their own path, but, according to him, parenting means being present and showing them that you are there for them, no matter what.
