Vanessa Bryant has publicly stated that her mother is trying to "extort large sums of money", claiming through a lawsuit that her daughter has cut off all income since the death of Kobe and daughter Gianna.
"My mother keeps trying and finding ways to extort money from our family. Just because I did not submit to her threats and financial demands, she went out of control and is making absurd and untrue claims," ??Vanessa wrote in a statement. post published on her Instastory.
The 68-year-old on the other hand has filed her complaints in court for the "damage" owed to her by her daughter and her son-in-law's property. Bryant's mother claims that the basketball legend had promised her mother-in-law that she would be financially responsible for the rest of her life, and that promise was not kept after his death. Now, she claims that her daughter has done everything to avoid and cancel these promises.

According to her mother, Vanessa sold her house, her car, closed her health insurance and left her alone inside an apartment, where she had to cope alone with "the painful death of Kobe and her granddaughter."
In addition, the elderly woman claims that Bryant did not give her any salary as they had agreed, as she worked as a personal assistant for her daughter and as a nanny for the children.
On the other hand, Vanessa categorically denies it, saying that she has never been employed and that she has sometimes taken care of the children like any grandmother does.
"This trial is shameful, not serious and extremely hurtful. My husband never promised my mother anything and he would be more than disappointed by her behavior and pronounced lack of empathy."
