Janelle Monae often talks about her lifestyle, including her healthy diet. In an interview with Glamor seven years ago, Monae said the merits of fair skin belong to a "vegetable and fish rich diet."
Finally, the singer discovered that the Pescatarian diet caused mercury poisoning.
"I started to feel my own mortality," Monae said.
A vegetarian diet resembles a vegetarian diet, but allows for the consumption of fish and seafood.
Some people may be exposed to high levels of mercury if they consume a diet rich in fish, molluscs or sea mammals.
The nervous system is very sensitive to mercury. If the brain is exposed to sufficiently high levels of metallic mercury, it causes permanent damage. The kidneys are also sensitive to mercury, as the metal accumulates there and causes damage as a result of higher exposure.
