Albania and Kosovo remain the lowest paid countries in Europe. In our country, according to Eurostat data published on Monitor.al, the minimum wage in our country is 213 euros (required by law).
Although the minimum wage has recently risen from time to time, it still remains far from the salaries of European countries.
In Kosovo, the minimum wage is 130 euros for employees under 35 and 170 euros for those over 35. Although consumer prices there have been rising, salaries have been roughly the same since 2011.
How are European countries compared to our region?
They range from 600 euros in the east and over 500 euros in the north-west of the EU.
For example; Latvia (? 430), Romania (? 466), Hungary (? 487), Croatia (? 546), Czech Republic (? 575), Slovakia (? 580), Estonia (? 584), Lithuania (? 607) and Poland (? 607) 611 ?).
Whereas for countries in the south of the EU, minimum wages ranged between ? 700 and just over ? 1,000 per month: Portugal (? 741), Greece (? 758), Malta (? 777), Slovenia (? 941) and Spain (? 1 050).
In countries like France, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, or Luxembourg the minimum wages are all over 1500 euros.
