Although the statistics say that the number of bars in Albania is falling, we continue to remain one of the countries with the highest number of cafes in Europe, in relation to the population.
Eurostat and INSTAT data revealed that in relation to the population, the country has 547 bar-restaurants per 100,000 inhabitants.
It seems that Portugal is the first in Europe for the high number of bars and restaurants in relation to the population.
In Portugal there are a total of about 74 thousand bars for a population of 10.3 million inhabitants, or 718 bars per 100 thousand inhabitants.
The second is Greece and in third place - Albania!
What about countries with fewer cafes?
It seems that Germany and the Nordic countries have only 200 bar-restaurants per 100 thousand inhabitants, being listed in the last countries in Europe.
Some factors that explain the statistics for Albania:
- The culture of staying in coffee for long hours
- The addiction of many people to coffee and the consumption of coffee several times a day
- Way of Albanians to spend their free time
- Lack of other activities
- Costs etc.
