Yes, it's official: '80s makeup is back, and this time it's more maximalist than ever. Forget the "clean girl" minimalism of nude skin and invisible makeup; this season, the spotlight is on the girls who dare. And we're telling you right now: it's never been more fantastic.

It seems the decade that brought the world puffy shoulders and ultra-hold hairspray is making a strong comeback in our beauty routines. Inspiration? Pop stars and supermodels of the time who spared no expense when it came to makeup brushes.

The principle was clear back then: more is better. If your cheeks didn't look like light bulbs and your lips didn't catch the eye from down the hall, did you really have a clue about fashion?
