Ryan Gosling has defended himself against those who think he is "too old" to play Ken doll in the new Barbie movie.
It all started in April when the first trailer for the movie "Barbie" was released and a debate ensued on social networks, where some users expressed the opinion that the 42-year-old actor looked too "grown up" to play Ken.
"If people don't want to play my Ken, there are plenty of other Kens to play," Gosling said in an interview with GQ.
The actor also spoke about the various factors that convinced him to take on the role of the iconic doll in the Greta Gerwig-directed comedy - the opportunity to be part of a film that puts female characters at the center. The film stars Margot Robbie, Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, Hari Nef, America Ferrera and many others.
"Barbie" will be released in theaters on July 21.
