In a statement to The Sun , Rita Ora talked about her experience in Kosovo in April. The singer visited the birthplace as UNICEF representative to help the children and young people of the country. She also visited Kosovo's neighborhood where residents live in difficult economic conditions.
"I went to my hometown with UNICEF because I had time without going," she told The Sun. "I had not been to the places I visited, worse than I expected. I saw houses and visited children who did not go to school, visited young mothers. I went to see the work done by UNICEF because sometimes I do not see the results. "
Rita, Vera and Besnik's parents fled Kosovo when she was only one year old as a result of ethnic persecution by Serbian dictator Slobodan Milosevic.
"It was a very touching experience, made me understand that I am very blessed and welcoming that I was able to come to the UK and to make my dreams and dreams come true," said Rita.
To give something back to where he was born, Rita will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of escada bags, realized as a collaboration between her and the firm. The donations will go to the Women for Women International organization, which helps survivors of the Kosovo war.
