Immediately after the chaotic situation caused by the spread of coronavirus in Italy, some voicemail messages on WhatsApp spread rapidly, saying that Covid-19 was affected in Albania. In a statement on its official Facebook page, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection states "that no information taken in an unofficial way should be considered".
Full statement:
?All information in an unofficial way should not be considered. There is no case of coronavirus in Albania until now
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection invites all citizens to avoid false information that is currently being spread about the coronavirus in order to increase panic.
All information disseminated in informal ways, in social networks, media, should not be taken into consideration as they do not refer to the real situation and, above all, damage public safety by spreading unnecessary panic. Not least the malicious voices, devised and released the same way as they were a few months ago after the earthquake, should be trusted.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection suggests that all information on the coronavirus situation is published on the ministry's official website and on its profiles on social media and media.
The MSHMS publishes official information on coronavirus daily in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization.
The Ministry of Health recommends all citizens who have traveled from affected countries to call National Emergency Number 127 in case of any concern or clinical signs. ?
