In an announcement posted on the official website, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection announced updated figures on the Covid-19 situation in Albania.
"2,374 tests were performed in the last 24 hours, of which 311 tests were performed for screening reasons. In the last 24 hours, 840 citizens have tested positive. Confirmed positive cases have been identified in the following municipalities: 345 cases in Tirana, 75 cases in Shkodra, 52 cases in Fier, 47 cases in Berat, 42 cases in Vlora, 33 cases in Kavaja, 24 cases in Gjirokastra, 23 cases in Lushnje, 22 cases in Pogradec, 19 cases in Lezha, 18 cases in Kruja, 17 cases in Korça, 15 cases in Kolonjë, 14 cases in Mirditë, 11 cases in Kuçovë and Skrapar, 10 cases in Mat, 9 cases in Gramsh, 8 cases in Kukës, 7 cases in Saranda, Malësi e Madhe, Peqin, 6 cases in Tepelena, 5 cases in Librazhd, 4 cases in Devoll, 3 cases in Durrës, 2 cases in Mallakastër, 1 case in Bulqiza, Tropojë, Has, Elbasan. ”
In the announcement, the ministry writes that in the last 24 hours 331 citizens have been cured.
"Currently in 4 Covid hospitals, 479 patients are being treated, 35 in intensive care, 9 patients are intubated. Despite the efforts of doctors, in the last 24 hours, 16 citizens with Sars-Cov2 positive have lost their lives in Covid hospitals: 5 citizens from Tirana, 2 citizens from Vlora, 2 citizens from Pogradec, 2 citizens from Fier, 2 citizens from Berat , 1 citizen from Saranda, 1 citizen from Gramsh, 1 citizen from Lushnja, aged 51-86. ”
