King Charles III has a nickname for his bride, Meghan Markle, and it's… weird, to say the least.
Royals expert and journalist Katie Nicholls wrote a book called The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth's Legacy and the Future of the Croën, which was published on Tuesday, October 4. He shares all the details on the late Queen's successor, King Charles III. According to Nicholls, the king - who was apparently jealous that Kate Middleton's style was a better media magnet than his good deeds - gave Meghan Markle the nickname 'Tungsten'.
It is said that Charles gave her this nickname because of her toughness and resilience - Nicholls wrote in the book, according to a report from Entertainment Tonight.
Tungsten, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, is “the chemical element of atomic number 74, a hard steel-gray metal. It has a very high melting point and is used to make light electrical wires.
It's thought the nickname was coined to describe Meghan as "magnetic" (like tungsten herself), but Charles has never mentioned it publicly and Meghan has yet to rate it as a nickname.
