Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton's 2017 duet "Rainbowland" was deemed inappropriate by some schools in Wisconsin, and one teacher is furious.
According to People, Melissa Tempel, a foreign language teacher at Heyer Elementary in Waukesha, USA, is not happy that the song was removed from the first grade concert.
"My first graders were so excited to sing 'Rainbowland' for our concert, but it was not allowed by the administration," the teacher tweeted.
People reports that Tempel was told the song was banned because Cyrus is a "controversial" character. However, the teacher believes this is due to Parton's popularity and the song's connection to the LGBTQ+ community.

Since being published, Tempel's viral post has been viewed over 152,000 times and has sparked some backlash.
"All Miley and Dolly are saying is that they want to live in a world that accepts without judgment and where people can be who they want to be," said one of the children's parents.
