The number of infected also increased and there are currently 9,172 infected, up from 7,375 on Sunday.
Italy turns out to be the country with the widest spread of coronavirus after China. The cases have spread to 20 regions of Italy.

Earlier, the situation escalated in the country's prisons. Six victims of prison riots are reported. The first problems began in the northern town of Modena shortly after Sant'Anna prison inmates were told that visits had been canceled.
At the San Vittore prison in Milan, prisoners set fire to one of the floors of the building and managed to climb to the roof and protest from there.

At a prison in Foggia some 20 prisoners managed to escape during the protests, but most were captured by police. There was also unrest in the prisons of Naples and Rome.
On Monday, the prime minister said that "Italy will overcome this situation if people follow the rules."
Strict measures restrict movement in the northern areas and are expected to last until April 3rd.
