A senior official told investors Monday that biotechnology company Moderna believes its vaccine will protect people from Covid for at least a year.
"Our expectation is that the effect of vaccination will last for at least a year," Tal Zaks said at the 39th Annual Health Conference.
Moderna and Pfizer / BioNTech coronavirus vaccines have been authorized for urgent use by the US Food and Drug Administration.
On January 11, 2021, Albania also started vaccination against Covid-19.
According to the Ministry of Health, the vaccination process will be every day for 8 to 10 hours and based on forecasts, 60 people are expected to be vaccinated within 1 hour.
Zaks said the company would have to test people to see if adding a third dose - an increase - could extend protection.
Currently, the vaccine is given in two doses over a period of one month from one dose to another.
Since both vaccines were only invented last year, no one knows how long they will protect humans.
