After another sunny August, many of us return to our daily lives with fond memories, tanned skin and, unfortunately, more visible brown spots on our faces. Prolonged sun exposure worsens pigmentation, especially if we already have blemishes, acne scars or a predisposition to melasma, also known as sun spots.
If we notice that our skin has lost its radiance or has developed new spots, then it's the right time to turn to niacinamide, an active ingredient with proven action in regulating uneven skin tone.
What is niacinamide?
Niacinamide is the water-soluble form of vitamin B3, one of the most studied and multifunctional ingredients in modern skin care. It is renowned for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, while significantly contributing to improving skin tone, texture and elasticity.
Particularly important is its action against brown spots and blemishes, which bother us a lot after sun exposure during the summer.
Autumn is the ideal time to focus on taking care of our skin. Since the skin has been exposed to the sun's rays for weeks, it is more sensitive, more dehydrated, and often experiences changes in pigmentation.
How to incorporate it into your routine? Start with a serum containing 5% to 10% niacinamide and apply it to clean skin, morning and/or evening, before your moisturizer. It's important to continue using sunscreen daily, even in the fall, as sun protection is essential to prevent new spots.
Niacinamide works gradually. If we are consistent in its use, within a few weeks we will see a change in the texture and pigment of our skin. The spots will begin to fade and the skin will look brighter and more even.
Niacinamide can also be easily combined with other favorite active ingredients, such as retinol, to promote cell regeneration, vitamin C, for radiance and antioxidant protection, and hyaluronic acid, for deep hydration.
