Ordinary people, fans of "Friends", friends and colleagues reacted to the death of actor Matthew Perry by posting statements that appreciate Perry as a person and an actor. However, quite a few people have wondered why the other stars of "Friends" - Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer - have not published anything.
Posts on their social media accounts have been filled with comments like: “Why haven't any of the 'Friends' stars posted about the loss of Chandler?”; "Honestly, I'm really disappointed and disgusted that none of the cast of 'Friends' have made a post or anything to remember their colleague and friend"; "Strange how none of the 'Friends' cast have said a thing about Matthew's death."
On the other hand, there are endless comments that called on people on social networks to respect the pain of the "Friends" actors, who remained good friends after the end of the sitcom. "Don't be so ignorant, have some respect for them. They need their time to process their feelings before making a post to please others,” one wrote.
"Because they are shocked because they have lost someone they loved very much," says another. "If your friend died, would posting on social media be the first thing you would do?" quips another comment.
"How can you write such pathetic things?! Are you ok? These people have lost a friend they have known for a long time. They don't mind social media at a time when they are experiencing such great pain," added another user.
Perry, 54, was found dead in the bathtub. On Sunday, his family released a statement saying they were "heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother". Additional investigations are being conducted to find out the cause of death before a conclusion can be reached.
