
In 2025, the story of Michael Jackson is expected to be released in cinemas. Lionsgate has published the news presenting April 18 of next year as the official date. Production begins on January 22, Variety reveals.
'Michael' will bring audiences an honest portrait of the brilliant and complicated singer who became the king of pop", reads the first official synopsis of the film. "The film presents triumphs and tragedies, moving from its human side to personal problems and iconic performances."

Antoine Fuqua will be the director while Jaafar Jackson, the son of Michael's older brother, will be the protagonist. According to the producers, Jaafar looks a lot like Michael, the boy even sings, dances and talks just like his uncle.

Of all the details surrounding the film, it has yet to be revealed whether the film will address the allegations of child abuse that have surrounded Jackson before and after his death.
