On the eve of the EU-Western Balkans summit, which will be held on Tuesday, December 6 in Tirana, the state police has started taking precautions for the smooth running of this important event.
Through an announcement, the police informs that for security reasons there will be traffic jams and diversions on some interurban and urban roads of the capital starting from 06:00 on Tuesday until 18:00 of the same day.
The blocked roads will be:
– Rinas Street – Kashar Neck and vice versa
– Tirana-Vorë highway and vice versa
– Big ring from the former Shqiponja Square – Sanatorium Circle and vice versa
– Elbasanit St. from Sanatorium Circle to Elbasanit Bridge and vice versa
Meanwhile, all the roads that connect Rr. Elbasani with Rr. Pope John Paul II, Dervish Hima St., Asim Zeneli St., Themistokli Gërmenji St., Ismail Qemali St., Mustafa Matohiti St., Jul Variboba, Rr. Faik Konica, Fatmir Haxhiu, General Nikols, ruga e Atjon, see Ahmet Pazar, as well as all the roads connecting Blv. D. Kombit with Rr. Ibrahim Rugova, Free Ukraine, Lek Dukagjini will be blocked.
Also, parking of vehicles will not be allowed in these segments, so for this reason, all residents of the area have been notified not to park their vehicles. If the rule is not applied, the posting of the means will be done by the relevant authorities.
It has also been announced that there will be no obstacles for the means of medical emergencies and civil emergencies, except for police controls in the security perimeter, which will be controlled by police officers.
Traffic jams and detours on highways and interurban roads leading to Tirana will begin at 07:00, while in the city in the security perimeter starting at 06:00 and on other roads that are included in the movement itinerary at 08:00.
Another very important announcement was also made on the official website of TIA (Tirana Airport), which warns all citizens who have flights the next day to arrive at the airport 4 hours before the flight schedule.
"TIA announces that all passengers who are scheduled to travel from TIA on December 6, are requested to be at the airport 4 hours before their flight due to the measures taken for the EU-Western Balkans summit. This presence is required so that passengers do not risk losing their flight." - the official announcement reads.
